Half the New Zealand contingent survived the cut at the weather-affected Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur today as the poor form of Michael Campbell and Danny Lee continued.
Mark Brown was the best of the four New Zealanders after shooting a second successive 71 to be two-under in a share of 19th place. Mark Purser will also play the weekend after his opening 74 was followed by a 71 to sneak inside the cut mark by a stroke on one-over.
Campbell and Lee both carded 76 today, with Campbell finishing in a share of 116th on six-over and Lee 123rd on eight-over.
Brown was eight strokes behind Welshman Rhys Davies, whose 10-under tally has him two strokes clear of Spaniard Alejandro Canizares.
Two hours were lost yesterday due to lightning, meaning 58 players returned early this morning to complete their second rounds.
