KEY POINTS:
New Zealander Mark Brown has lost his place atop the Asian Tour moneylist after his nearest rival, India's Jeev Milkha Singh, won the Singapore Open today.
Brown, who didn't make the four-over cut at 146 after opening rounds of 74 and 77, began the tournament leading the Asian tour moneylist with earnings of US$750,130 ($1.34 million).
Singh, his nearest rival on the moneylist, was US$137,00 further back. But the Indian golfer, after a two-over opening round of 73, put together rounds of 68, 67 and 69, giving him the US$792,500 first prize.
Second place, one shot astray, was shared by South African Ernie Els and Irishman Padraig Harrington on 278.
Brown will now need an outstanding performance at next week's US$2.5 million Hong Kong Open if he is to again threaten the order of merit title.
Danny Lee was the sole New Zealander to make the cut at the Singapore Open, ending the second round with a two-under-par 69 to be 31st equal on 143.
His last two rounds of 70 and 77 left him with a share of 32nd place on 290.
Lee and Brown's compatriots Richard Lee, Stephen Scahill and Mahal Pearce all failed to progress past the second round.
