KEY POINTS:
New Zealand golfer Mark Brown posted his second successive one-under-par 71 to trail leader Michael Lorenzo-Vera of France by six shots after the second round of the China Open in Beijing yesterday.
England's Richard Finch, who won the New Zealand Open in December, was second after compiling rounds of 68 and 69.
Lorenzo-Vera had rounds of 67 and 69 for a two-round total of 136.
Brown, who leads on the Asian Tour order of merit after posting consecutive wins in India in February and March, struggled for consistency.
His round contained four birdies and three bogeys but he ensured he safely made the second-round cut in the US$2 million ($2.56 million) tournament.
Two other New Zealanders in the tournament missed the cut which was set at four-over par.
Richard Lee shot a 78 today for a two-round eight-over total of 152 while Scahill had a 10-over total of 154 after a second round 78.
