New Zealand's Lynette Brooky finished in a share of third place at the Italian Open women's golf tournament at the par-72 Sheraton Golf Parco de' Medici course today.
Denmark's Iben Tinning claimed her second victory in three weeks by winning the euro 300,000 ($534,300) tournament, storming home with a final round six-under-par 66 to finish with a 272 -- 17-under-par total -- and win by a shot from Italy's Veronica Zorzi.
Tacking a second consecutive round of 66 onto opening rounds of 69 and 70, Tinning did just enough to claim the euro 45,000 first prize.
Zorzi fired a final-round 66, as did Italian Sophie Sandolo and Brooky, with the latter two claiming third position on 15-under-par 273.
Brooky earned euro 18,000 ($32,057).
She had led the first round with a 64 and kept in the money with further rounds of 71, 72 and 66.
