KEY POINTS:
Former North Harbour and New Zealand representative golfer Stacey Tate won the Moss Vale Golf Club Ladies Classic in New South Wales at the weekend to score a second consecutive win on the ALPG Tour.
Tate, 23, who won the Gujarat NRE Cup on the Russel Vale course, near Sydney, last week, will be hoping to bring that good form into next month's women's New Zealand Open at Christchurch.
Yesterday's win moved Tate to the top of the tour's standings with 1200 points.
Tate sank crucial back-to-back birdies on the 17th and 18th holes of the final round to beat Victoria's Wendy Berger by one shot. Tate shot a seven-under-par total of 139 after rounds of 70 and 69.
"[On the final hole] I found the
trees on the right off the tee but still had a swing and then knocked it to a foot," Tate said.
"That was definitely the winning shot."
