New Zealand golfer Jae An bowed out of the United States junior amateur championship in Massachusetts today.
The Rotorua teenager was knocked out in the round of 32 at the Longmeadow Golf Club.
An, who won the Aaron Baddeley world junior title in Fiji last year, qualified after 36 holes strokeplay, and won through his first round matchplay with a 1-up victory over American William Cauley.
He had fought back after being 3-down after just three holes.
However he lost 7 and 5 to American Tim McKenny.
