The "Messi boy" has reportedly been found.
A picture of a little boy wearing a blue-and-white-striped grocery bag with the number of one of the world's most popular football player had social media buzzing last week.
The picture surfaced online of the young boy, facing away from the camera, wearing the plastic bag with Argentine striker Lionel Messi's name and number written on the makeshift supporter shirt in what appears to be permanent marker.
BBC reports that they have tracked down the child. He is five-year-old Murtaza Ahmadi from a rural area in Afghanistan.
Murtaza's uncle Azim Ahmadi confirmed to the BBC that the boy was his nephew. He said the family live in the Jaghori District, in the eastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan and the boy made the shirt because the family can't afford the real thing.
