KEY POINTS:
Preston striker Dave Nugent has been called up by England for the European Championship soccer qualification games against Israel and Andorra.
No outfield player from an English division below the premier league has played for England since Sunderland's Michael Gray in 1999.
If he plays, Nugent will also be the first Preston player since Tom Finney in 1959 to turn out for the national team.
Nugent, who has scored 16 goals this season, replaced Charlton's injured Darren Bent, and joins Wayne Rooney, Andy Johnson and Jermain Defoe as England's four forwards in a 23-strong squad.
