England soccer player Wayne Rooney has been told not to turn up to a children's tournament because he would be a poor role model.
He was due to attend a training session with young players as part of the English Schools Football Association tournament next week. But association members rejected the opportunity of having Rooney attend because of his on-field swearing and alleged off-field behaviour.
The 19-year-old is suing a newspaper over allegations that he assaulted his girlfriend, the model Coleen McLoughlin, whose name is tattoed on his arm.
