Star Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo had surgery on his injured right ankle in Amsterdam yesterday.
The English champions' website said that the operation was a success.
"Cristiano will begin his convalescence under the direction of club medical staff and an estimation of his return to full fitness will be possible following a review by the specialist in one month," said a statement on the club's website.
Ronaldo, 23, has public ally said that he is considering his future with the club, hinting at a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid.
