No matter what Norwich City's results may be in the next few weeks, you can be sure there's one person that will be forever haunted by the Canaries.
Football reporter Jim van Wijk was given a curious assignment by his Press Association employers last week.
Each day, the UK Press Association sends out a schedule to its hundreds of clients, detailing their expected coverage of the day's events.
A correspondent at football website www.football365.com spotted an irregularity and did not hesitate in posting it on their ascerbic Mediawatch column under the sub-head: "What makes us think that Jim van Wijk didn't have a clue what story he was going to do for Norwich on Wednesday night?"
"PA Sport night schedule for Wednesday, January 19," the piece started before rattling off a list of FA Cup third-round replays, their kick-off times and the reporters covering them.
All very sober until: "Norwich Nightlead: Nigel Worthington today declared Jim van Wijk to be Norwich's saviour after signing the big gay Dutchman on a 15-year, £30 million deal. Jim van Wijk filing at 1500." Poor Jim might have had a heavy heart filing that story.
