KEY POINTS:
The English football premiership has a nail-biting finish, with Manchester United and Chelsea level with a game to play. That has thrust Wigan and Bolton - their final opponents - into the spotlight.
It has been a two-horse race for some time between this season's Champions League finalists and the premiership suffers through a few clubs being over-dominant. But it's hard to fathom how Newcastle manager Kevin Keegan has room for complaint about a boring premiership dominated by four teams.
Newcastle fans would turn up to watch two Geordie ants climb up a wall - they have fantastic support. Clubs like Newcastle need to find ways to challenge Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal instead of moaning about it.
As for Sir Alex Ferguson - whose United has the goal advantage over Chelsea - the man is a genius. It is a miracle of modern sport that one man has been able to keep his club on top, and on top of things himself, for so long in such a pressure-cooker environment.
The game has changed drastically from his early United days when Ferguson was able to build a club from within, but he has adjusted and remained ahead of the pack.
