BARCELONA, Spain (AP) Barcelona's already injury-hit squad has received another blow with full back Adriano ruled out of Tuesday's Champions League game at Ajax.
Barcelona says that the versatile, yet injury-prone Brazilian hurt a ligament in his left ankle during the 4-0 win over Granada on Saturday and will miss the trip to Amsterdam.
Barcelona says midfielder Xavi Hernandez, however, has returned to the squad after missing the Granada match due to a muscle strain in his left hamstring.
The Spanish leaders are without top scorer Lionel Messi, goalkeeper Victor Valdes, forward Cristian Tello, and defenders Dani Alves and Jordi Alba, all due to injury.
