Minor league English club Halifax Town are keen to sign All Whites soccer striker Shane Smeltz, as long as he doesn't have too many international commitments next season.
Smeltz, 24, impressed Halifax manager Chris Wilder during a trial with the Yorkshire club.
"Shane has done well but we want to check at the New Zealand end how many games they have coming up over the next season," Wilder told the club's website.
"If he'll be away for long periods then we would have to reassess."
Smeltz spent last season with AFC Wimbledon following a brief spell in the Football League with Mansfield Town.
