JOHANNESBURG - Former captain Maurice Odumbe blasted an unbeaten 52 off 46 balls to help Kenya recover to 217 for seven from 50 overs in their World Cup Group B match against Bangladesh on Saturday (South African time).
The Kenyans, who have beaten Bangladesh in five of their six one-day meetings, had slipped to 164 for six after off spinner Sanwar Hossain removed Kenya skipper Steve Tikolo (27), Hitesh Modi (12) and Thomas Odoyo (19).
Earlier, Kennedy Otieno was caught behind for no score off the third ball of the day before Ravindu Shah and Brijal Patel regained the initiative for Kenya with an aggressive second-wicket stand of 67.
But the Kenyan slide began when Patel was caught in the deep for 32 and, three overs later, Shah was removed for 37.
