POTCHEFSTROOM, South Africa - Louis Burger took his third quick wicket as Australia slipped to 146-4 after 26 overs in the World Cup Group A match against Namibia today.
Australia captain Ricky Ponting was caught by Deon Kotze off Burger for two shortly after Matthew Hayden was bowled by Burger for 88. Andrew Symonds was unbeaten on 10.
Adam Gilchrist was earlier bowled by medium-pacer Burton van Rooi for 13 and Michael Bevan was caught and bowled by Burger for a scratchy 17 in his first knock of the tournament.
Earlier Australia captain Ricky Ponting won the toss.
Van Rooi bowled Gilchrist with a full-pitched, inswinging delivery. 26-1. However, Australia regrouped and Hayden reached his first half-century of the tournament.
Bevan was caught and bowled by Burger after getting a leading edge to a slower ball from the medium-pacer. 104-2.
Hayden, who had just started to cut loose, was bowled by Burger as he attempted a pull shot. 140-3.
Ponting was caught at point off a loose shot. 146-4
