KEY POINTS:
Dunedin's Ken Walker was beaten by former world champion Alex Marshall (Scotland) 0-11 4-10 in the first round of the Scottish international open bowls tournament in Perth, Scotland, today (NZ time).
Walker never found his touch, with the only glimmer of hope coming at the start of the second set with two well-played ends.
However the seventh-seeded Marshall soon resumed dominance to march away with an easy win.
It was Walker's second trip to the world bowls tour, having reached the second round of the world indoor singles in 2005.
Southland's Ross Stewart also lost his first round encounter in Perth at the weekend.
