Update:
A man is being treated by St John ambulance staff after a crash between a car and truck on State Highway 2, south of Te Puke.
The car the man was travelling in became wedged between a barrier and the truck at the intersection of SH2 and Rangiuru Rd about 1.45pm.
Early reports suggested the man was trapped in the car but responding firefighters were later stood down as the man was able to get out.
A policeman at the scene said the man was not believed to be seriously hurt.
The truck had been facing north when the driver attempted to turn left and the following car travelling up along the inside of the truck, the policeman said.
A reporter at the scene said ambulance staff were treating the man and traffic was flowing freely.

A Fire Service Northern Communications spokeswoman said they had been called to the crash at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Rangiuru Rd.
Emergency services were on their way to the scene.
