A rise in Rotorua property market's median sale price during April shows the good range of properties selling - including three in the $1 million plus bracket.
Figures released by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand show the number of sales was slightly down from 75 in March to 72 in April, but the median sale price lifted from $231,000 to $255,500.
Rotorua REINZ spokesman Ian McDowell said this was a reflection of a good number of sales in the $300,000-$500,000 range.
"We also had three sales over $1 million - a lakeside property at Lake Okareka went for $1.8 million, one at Tarawera sold for $2.1 million and an apartment development complex was $2.7 million.
"It is quite exciting. This shows there are buyers out there - even for the more expensive properties."
