Otonga Primary School children have sold tasty treats to help children who are less fortunate than them.
Teacher Sonja Hoogenboom said the pupils read the book I am Malala and learnt about Malala Yousafzai from Pakistan, who campaigned for girls to have the right to an education.
She was shot at point blank range by people who opposed her, but she survived and has continued campaigning for the rights of all children to go to school, particularly girls and children living in poverty.
Hoogenboom said after reading the book the children decided to raise money for the Malala Fund.
Rooms 13 and 14 - Year 5 and 6 pupils - held a cake stall where they sold baking from home to children and staff.
