Get some air this weekend and go fly a kite at Kuirau Park.
The Kiwanis club of Roto Whenua has organised a day out for the family, "just for the fun of it," said club secretary Mark Franken.
Make your own kite or pick one up from a $2 shop, the main idea is to enjoy spending time with children.
Kiwanis has a focus on organising youth events, and the club is also involved in the BOP Science Fair, Teddy Bears' Picnic and Christmas Parade. It also carries out maintenance work on the Waiotapu Forest School Camp.
If wet, or no wind on the day, the alternate date is Sunday, October 30.
