Jaedin Maxwell has had his scooter stolen for the second time.
Bought for just under $400, the Crisp scooter was half the Whakatane 10-year-old's means of transport. He also has a bike.
The first time Jaedin's scooter was stolen, it was taken from his school. But an attentive policeman teaching youngsters about bike and scooter safety a few days later recognised the scooter from a description given to police.
"It had a distinctive lock wrapped around one of the grips that couldn't be removed, so I was lucky enough to get it back then," Jaedin said.
He's hoping he's just as lucky this time around.
