Apart from some minor landscaping and concrete work the first stage of Rotorua's Green Corridor has been finished.
Rotorua Lakes Council is now looking for tenders to start the second stage through the city.
Stage one of Rotorua's new Green Corridor shared cycling and pedestrian path was close to completion last week when the city experienced its big influx of bike riders in town for the Crankworx international mountain bike festival.
Using compressed lime chip material, the path is now fully formed and surfaced from the Lake Rd side of Kuirau Park through to a point near the Ranolf/Haupapa streets intersection.
The second section, to be undertaken in coming months, will extend the Green Corridor through the inner city providing a link with cycle paths on the other side of town.
