Health workshop
Rotorua cancer patients and their supporters are invited to a one-day nutrition workshop being hosted by Rotorua's Aratika Trust. It will be facilitated by Dr Britta Noske who is a Rotorua doctor and former cancer sufferer. People will learn about the importance of good nutrition through a mixture of theory, practical demonstrations and shopping information during the workshop at Waiariki Institute of Technology this Saturday from 10am to 4pm. TB student improving
A Western Heights High School Year 10 student who was diagnosed with tuberculosis (TB) is recovering well at home and is expected back at school within a month. Testing of 100 of his class mates, his close family and four teachers has been completed but full results are not expected until Monday. Bay of Plenty District Health Board medical officer of health Neil de Wet said no one who had been in contact with the student had shown any signs of active TB.
