Two people gave evidence before Judge Mark Perkins at a second depositions hearing of the Teresa Cormack case in the Napier District Court today.
A Wellington sales assistant gave evidence in the Crown case against Jules Pierre Nicholas Mikus, 43, of Lower Hutt, who is charged with the June 19, 1987 abduction, rape, sexual violation and murder of six-year-old Teresa, who disappeared as she walked to Richmond School.
The Wellington man's name and evidence was suppressed.
A Napier woman told of seeing a little girl "with beautiful hair" in Riverbend Rd shortly after 9am the day Teresa went missing.
Mikus was committed for trial after a day-long depositions hearing in Napier District Court on July 1.
Justice Gendall moved the trial to Wellington after an application by defence lawyer Steve Gill.
It is due to start on September 30 and take two weeks.
However, the Crown did not call all their witnesses at the first depositions hearing, so Mr Gill asked for another hearing.
A third witness is also to be called. He was unable to appear today and is likely to give his evidence late next week. His name was also suppressed.
Also scheduled for next week in the High Court is a defence challenge to the admissibility of some of the Crown's scientific evidence.
