Central Wellington streets were cordoned off this morning as police acted on a futile tip-off about clandestine methamphetamine labs.
Nothing was found, however, and the roads re-opened 40 minutes after they shut at 5am.
Police said officers acted on search warrants as they made inquiries at "several Wellington addresses" after receiving information about clandestine P labs.
They didn't find anything.
"In this instance we are happy that there was in fact no risk to the public from a clan lab and we will continue to take active action to try and reduce risk to the public from potential risks that these labs pose," Detective Senior Sergeant Pete Mallon said.
