Wellington police are still looking for a security van stolen in what they describe as a well-planned and executed robbery yesterday morning.
Four armed men held up two security guards as they were about to load money into a National Bank ATM in the central city.
Unconfirmed reports put the amount stolen at about $1 million but police will only say the sum was significant, given the time of year.
The men made off with the van which has the registration number YS 8514 and the Chubb logo on it.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve Vaughn says they have had no confirmed sightings since then, even though they have had a number of calls about a Chubb van seen in Lower Hutt, Porirua and inner Wellington.
However, he says there are many vans that look similar.
The two security officers were not injured in the hold-up.
