Two people struck by a vehicle in central Auckland this morning are believed to have been using a pedestrian crossing.
One of the injured is understood to be a young girl.
A passerby told the Herald he had just dropped his daughter at school nearby and came across the scene on Sandringham Rd, outside the Kingsland train station.
He said he saw a person lying on the middle of the road - a pedestrian crossing - with several people crowded round them. At that stage, an ambulance and fire crew were already on the scene.
He continued walking into the station when he heard a loud scream, like someone was in pain.
