A man who built a controversial fence that blocked his neighbour's million-dollar view of Wellington Harbour has until tomorrow to file an appeal to keep it as the stoush drags on.
Roseneath property owner David Walmsley built the 4 metre high, 11 metre long fence on his exclusive Maida Vale Rd property, to the chagrin of neighbours Peter and Sylvia Aitchison.
The retired couple's $1.6 million apartment now looks out only on to wooden paneling, rather than the waters of the Cook Strait and hills of the capital's eastern suburbs.
Wellington City Council officials agree with the Aitchisons that the fence must come down and Mr Walmsley has until tomorrow evening if he wants to appeal that decision.
To cut across planning rules, Mr Walmsley claims the structure is part of a children's playground.
