KEY POINTS:
A Tauranga woman who claimed she was manipulated into group-sex sessions with former and serving police officers has reportedly been found dead.
Radio Live said it understood Debbie Gerbich died yesterday.
Detective Greg Turner told NZPA he could confirm police were investigating the death of a woman in the Tauranga suburb of Greerton early yesterday morning.
He said the death was not suspicious, and the matter would be referred to the coroner.
The former body builder spoke to the Sunday News earlier this year when she was identified in a sex-tape, featuring former police officer Brad Shipton.
The tape was made some time after 2001 and featured Mrs Gerbich and Shipton in a group sex session.
Mrs Gerbich, 37, spoke to officers from Operation Austin, the police historic sex crimes inquiry team, in March this year.
She told the Sunday News the sex was consensual at the time, however, she later felt she was manipulated and made to perform "like a circus seal".
She separately claimed that serving officers used batons and handcuffs in other group sex sessions with her.
Shipton, who is currently in jail for the pack rape of a woman in Mt Maunganui in 1989, denied ever being cruel to Mrs Gerbich.
