New Zealand National Front director Kyle Chapman has been questioned by police over two alleged race attacks in the lower North Island.
But Mr Chapman, from Christchurch, said he had not been there and did not know who was involved.
A skinhead in a National Front T-shirt was said to be part of a group who police say attacked young Somali men in Wellington last Friday night.
Police said a silver Subaru Impreza WRX driven by skinheads chased the Somalis before the attack, which might have involved a softball bat.
A similar car was seen at Otaki two days later. Police say a skinhead drove a van into a Maori man and injured him after he and his companion gave the fingers to the van occupants.
Police have made no arrests for either incident and want witnesses to come forward as they have no registration numbers for either the car or van.
National Front national secretary Kerry Bolton said he was not aware of any supporters driving a silver WRX and had not heard of any member being involved in either incident.
