KEY POINTS:
Tauranga police made nine arrests this morning as part of their ongoing homicide inquiries into the deaths of Darryl Crawford and William Taikato.
Detective Inspector Rob Jones said today's operation targeted members of the Mongrel Mob and their close associates. The nine people faced charges of supplying and conspiracy to supply methamphetamine. More arrests are expected.
Last week eight people tied to the Greasy Dogs and Outlaws gangs were arrested in a similar swoop.
Both Crawford and Taikato had strong links to gangs and the local drug trade, before they disappeared.
