Pauline Keen maintains a memorial at her Christchurch home for her daughter Angela Blackmoore stabbed to death six years ago today.
The memorial which includes photographs, artificial flowers and trinkets is Mrs Keen's constant reminder of the 21-year-old daughter she lost to a murderer who has yet to be caught.
Angela Maree Blackmoore died after being viciously attacked on the night of Thursday, August 17, 1995 in her home in the suburb of Wainoni.
She was nine weeks pregnant and her two-and-a-half-year-old son was asleep in a bedroom.
Her boyfriend discovered her body, lying on the kitchen floor, when he came home from work at 11.20 pm that night.
An inquest revealed she had been stabbed 39 times. A weapon has never been recovered.
Angela's mother, Pauline Keen, is determined to continue to fight for justice.
"There's no way in hell I'm going to let this lie," she said.
Mrs Keen said Angela's friends still phoned her to ask how the police inquiry was going and it was hard when there was nothing new.
The police website, www.police.govt.nz, features information about the case.
"There was no sign of forced entry and as Angela was known to be security conscious it is thought she may have known her attacker. However the motive for her murder is still unclear", says the website.
The website also says the file on the murder is still open and that the police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that can assist in identifying Angela's killer.
Detective Todd Hamilton, of New Brighton Police, hoped having information about the murder on the police website would assist with keeping it in the public eye.
He said there were no new leads in the case but the file was "definitely open" and police were following up any information that did come in and were still receiving the odd call.
