Hard to go past the team that has won the previous 2 world cups played in the Northern Hemisphere, or the team that has never lost to the All Blacks in the World Cup, or the team that has been in the most World Cup finals, or the team that has won more World Cups.
Aussie Aussie Aussie! Go the Wallabies!
Willie (Melbourne)
I think the ABs will meet France in the final.
Win it in a canter. 32-13.
Note: France will try three drop goals in the first half to stay in touch. This is the start of capturing the domination that the ABs hold over all comers every year, except in the RWC record books. By the time the RWC in 2011 has finished, the ABs will have the record number of cups too. Easy!
Glenn
My prediction is a New Zealand/Australia final the score being 29 to 23 all blacks to win.

The semis will be NZ, Australia, France, and South Africa. South Africa will be the most physical team at the tournament and bash their way to the semis. French flair and passion cannot be ruled out especially at home (and lets face it, we love the way they play - most notably Sebastian "caveman" Cheval - go you good thing)! The Australians continue to be one of the smartest teams around (Gregan, Larkin, Mortlock, and Smith are all playing well - and no one plays the mental game on the field better than George). Final will be NZ versus France - the all blacks to win 19 points to 15.
Peter Peters (Israel)
My head tells me ABs by 8 in the final against the Wallabies. My heart tells me ABs by 20 in the final against South Africa. My imagination tells me Romania by 16 in the final against Canada. My boss tells me to get back to work.

France to Beat NZ, once again the South Island boys will fall to pieces under the spot light France 22 NZ 12.
Dave
England to beat France 25-15.

The All Blacks will play and beat France in the Rugby World Cup final 2007 by 33-15.
Mad Merlin (North Harbour)
All Blacks to win the final against France 27/16. South Africa to beat Aussie in play off for 3rd 42/17.
NKHK
Hate to say it, but Aus v SA in the final, SA by 9. NZ to stutter and fall against Aus in the semifinal. SA to beat France on the other side.
Trevor
France 21 All Blacks 18.

Chicken stock - good soup
Beef stock - good gravy
Laughing stock - The Wallabies
It has been "four more years". ABs to dominate OZ in the Semi and beat SA in the final 38-17.
Rec
ABs to win. Final - ABs 29 vs Ireland 11.
Anonymous (Auckland)
Australia and New Zealand in the final. 23-18 to Australia.
Harsh (Christchurch)
I think the All Black will win because they're not dicks.
Jason Breen
New Zealand 27 France 12.
NZMel (London)
NZ vs SA final - ABs to win by 12 points.
Hutch
NZ to meet France in the quarter final in Cardiff. NZ to go on and meet Australia in the semi and to go on from that and meet South Africa in the RWC 2007 Final - All Blacks to be crowned champions.

Final: New Zealand vs South Africa
Prediction: New Zealand 24 South Africa 18
I feel that South Africa, at full strength, has a lot to offer. If they cannot field their strongest team, I feel that Australia may sneak in. France are highly over-rated and will likely miss out on a semis spot with either Ireland or England bumping them out. Beware the sleeping giants.
Jefferson (Auckland)
Definitely a final between the French and New Zealand. We have proven that the Aussies can only win in Australia and I think the Springboks' world cup campaign ended with the S14 final! My score: All Blacks 15, France 9.
Dan
England to win the World Cup and the AB's to bail out in the first round. Well we can only hope can't we!
The Balls
I think Pool A will be the pool of pain based on the size (despite skill level) and physicality of all teams, but SA will win with England as runners-up. Australia to nip Wales, who are more vulnerable to Fiji. NZ will easily win with Italy as runners-up. Pool D will be the pool of death. I predict France to anti-climactically win with another Argentina defeat of Ireland. Sorry guys and gals, but the Pumas are a real class act in many other elements other than scrummaging. NZ vs SA in the final 35-12 for the ABs and Sione Lauaki is player of the tournament!
Rumbley
New Zealand All Blacks 27 vs ? 12.
Watto (Thailand)
South Africa to beat NZ in the final 24-19.
NZ 40 per cent possession, lose lots of own lineouts, mid-field can't break the line on attack and is cut to pieces on defence, one really bad refereeing call, AB's panic in the last 15 minutes. Victor Matfield player of the tournament, but would have been won by Rodney Solialo if NZ won. NZ cries for weeks, regrets about not taking Ma'a Nonu, Rico Gear and Troy Flavell. Henry follows the destiny of the unfortunate people before him. ABs consider 'going back to their roots' for next world cup. Dump Adidas as a sponsor in favour of Canterbury, back to tough cotton jerseys for real men, and throw away the 'jinxed' black collar jerseys in favour of the traditional white collar. Not really what I want, but based on what I have seen this year - highly possible.
JPS (Dunedin)
NZ has every right to be favourite but recent results suggest that both Australia and South Africa could threaten NZ on their day. My gut is that to win the cup NZ will have to blow away these 2 opponents. If it becomes a war of attrition or a test of nerves and ends up close against either of these 2, I suspect NZ might be beatable. No northern hemisphere side is a serious threat (and I am an England and Ireland fan).
Mike (North Harbour)
Sorry Rushy but I feel you are a little off :-) The All Blacks will hit there peak @ the time when it counts (And needed lol)Semis & Finals. Semi's will be SA / France, ABs / Australia. Finals SA / ABs Reason for SA to be there is I feel they have done enough in the super14 and with good conditioning they will be a force come Semi times. Final score 34 22 to the ABs! The best 80 minute's of Graham Henry's life & New Zealanders.
Steve
The All Blacks will take the World Cup demolishing all before them. We'll beat a passionate French team 24-9 in the final.

The All Blacks are over due for a World Cup win. It's hard as a rabid supporter to watch them implode each time with petty selection policies which choose combinations that look good on small parks in front of loving crowds, but fail in front of large hostile ones.
Thakur from Macadamia Close
South Africa would be the team to beat. I think All Blacks will meet them in the final. All Blacks will win by 10 or more points.
Gee (Melbourne)
Two words: All Blacks! (by 18-25 points)
I think South Africa will be our biggest threat. France and Ireland to play out third and fourth spots. Woeful Wallabies to crash out in the quarter finals. It would be great to see Japan win a game. Go the mighty All Blacks. Bring it on home boys.
Gramps
Final - All Blacks vs South Africa
Score 32 - 9 to All Blacks.
Melbourne New Zealand
Obviously it's going to be New Zealand vs South Africa.
Jimmy (London)
Yes we will. We have the best front row, the best loosies, the best first-five, the best second-five, the best wingers, the best full back, the best captain, the best coaches, the best goal kicker, the best attack, the best defence, the best record, the most depth, the most experienced side. It doesn't matter who we will play in the final we will win it by 20 points!
Adrian Kelly
The All Blacks look great at the moment but you have got a record of not performing in world cups since 1987. Watch out in the quarter-final stage. There is more than one good team in Europe.
Joe-NZ
I reckon Stu's right that we will win this year's RWC. We have the coach, the team and the right preparation. All we do need, and it's something that we have lacked in past world cups, is the mental strength. I think the English team were perfectly mentally prepared in the last WC. There was no way they were going to lose and they didn't.
Kiwimark
Stu, you where a great All Black and I remember you well, but just because you where a great All Black doesn't mean you would make a great coach or make accurate predictions. You are correct with the All Blacks being in the final, but France are a far shot away from there best years.
Final: All Blacks 42 South Africa 36
Or All Blacks 28 Australia 18.
Brandon Maher
The final will be the All Blacks against the Springboks. It will be a tough match with South Africa and it will be a tense affair but the All Blacks will win by 10 points in the last quarter of the game with the All Blacks being the stronger of the two due to the reconditioning program and the fact that we have had the easiest group. The toughest match besides the final will be against Ireland in the qtr finals due to our lack of opposition at the group stage.
Jonathan Turner
France vs All Blacks. France to win by 4 points.
Jose (Oakland, California, USA)
Of course the All Blacks will win the world cup. They are in a good pool and I don't think that they will meet any hard competition until late in the games. I just received my jersey as a Fathers Day gift and I bought a flag that I hang on game days.
Dan O'Reilly
The All Black's should win the world cup, but do not underestimate the Aussies French or Springboks. I think the AB's will meet France in the final and will win going away.
Paul
South Africa will knock the All Blacks out in the semi in controversial circumstances. And Ireland will unexpectedly stroll past a fatigued Boks side in the final by 12 points. The All Blacks peaked about a year ago - they're now consumed with nerves and have tightened their game, eliminating the advantages they had over other teams over the last two years.
Sparko Expat (Greymouth)
It won't be Australia, posibbly not even in the 1/4 finals. I think South Africa v New Zealand and the All Blacks x 8. Am trying to get someone to bet me that the AB will be the first with three World Cups, but no takers. Soft Australians. Go the ABs.
Dr Dave
I cannot see another country upsetting the ABs this time. What I can see is some tough matches beyond the group stage which could end up being a bit like England at the last world cup. That is: a team with enough talent to beat any team in the world being pushed hard by lesser teams with nothing to lose. I will be at the final and for atmosphere I hope it will be the ABs v France. I'm sure the ABs don't need reminding - never write off the French - especially in Paris when a trophy is at stake - that could make for a great final - as could NZ V SA.
BTW - I'm a realistic England fan - we don't have a hope - but having visited NZ earlier this year and been given such a friendly welcome everywhere we went it's the ABs for us in 2007! Good luck!
Max Burns
NZ and Australia in the final, best prepared teams and variety.
