KEY POINTS:
The kiwi is at a record high against the US dollar despite the Reserve Bank's recent interventions to try to bring down the currency.
It has been trading at 77.21c against the greenback - its highest since the currency was floated 22 years ago.
Analysts believe the rise is partly sparked by GDP figures for the March quarter released yesterday, which show a rise of one per cent.
Economic activity grew 1.7 per cent for the year to March. The figures are slightly above Reserve Bank forecasts and make another interest rates rise more likely.
