On the move
State Highway 16 Nelson St offramp, eastbound, will be closed on Sunday from 10 pm to 5 am for resurfacing. State Highway 1 southbound motorway will be closed at the Newmarket Viaduct on Sunday from 11 pm to 5 am while new chip is laid. Trenching work continues along Gillies Ave and The Drive in Epsom. Hamilton's Wairere Dr will be closed to eastbound traffic from Hukanui Rd to River Rd from 8 am tomorrow to noon on Sunday.
Weather
The Auckland region can expect more cloud, sporadic rain and northeast gusts of up to 85 km/h. Tomorrow brings more of the same but the showers will ease on Sunday as the northerlies gradually die out.

The swish new Rocket Park Playground with five-way swing and climb-on rocket hosts a grand opening party with clowns, food and a Prime Minister from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday. The park is on the corner of New North Rd and Wairere Ave, Mt Albert.
Sporting life
In Super 12 action (Sky Sport coverage times in brackets) the Hurricanes host the Chiefs (7.30 pm) today. Tomorrow, the Blues host the Brumbies (7.30 pm) and the Crusaders travel to the Waratahs (9.30 pm). The Bulls host the Stormers on Sunday (1 am) and the Highlanders visit the Reds (4.25 pm). League's State of Origin series kicks off in Brisbane on Sunday (9.30 pm).

* Get out your best swannie and pack a thermos, the annual shooting season starts from 6.30 am. Information on bag limits is available at Fish and Game.
* Police and the Hamilton City Council launch a campaign today to reduce the number of drivers running red lights. Police are allocating 560 hours to the four-week campaign.
* The School of Music graduation concert is on at the Auckland Town Hall from 7 pm. Entry is free. The school also presents an entry-by-donation lunchtime concert at 6 Symonds St from 1.05 pm to 1.55 pm.
* Nominations are being accepted for the two trustee positions on the Counties Power Consumer Trust. Nomination papers are available from Counties Power, Glasgow Rd, Pukekohe, or by calling 0800 922-822 until June 12. The election will be held on August 4.
* Health Minister Annette King launches a health education resources website in Wellington today. The site has been set up by the ministry to provide information for health workers and the public. The public will be able to search for topics ranging from adolescent to sexual, and order relevant publications online from the resource provider at the nearest public health service. * The Ring, a behind-the-scenes peek at the puppets and sets used in the animated film version of Wagner's operatic take on the mammoth myth, is at the Aotea Gallery, Aotea Centre, from 9 am to 5 pm.
* The live multimedia extravaganza Interdigitate is on from 7.30 pm in the Moving Image Centre, Studio 1, 74 Shortland St.
* The final University of Auckland graduation parade starts at Bowen St at 10 am. The begowned ones will parade down Victoria St East to the Auckland Town Hall.
* Another day ... The International Sherlock Holmes Society gathers at Switzerland's Reichenbach Falls today to mourn a death that never happened. The fictional detective famously fell into the "dreadful cauldron" while grappling with his arch foe, Professor Moriarty, in 1891. Public opinion forced an unlikely resurrection 12 years later.
Tomorrow
* No Artificial Flavours, a celebration of hip hop, breakdancing, MCing, DJing, graffiti art and skateboarding, is on at the Otara Recreation Centre, Newbury St, from 8 am to midnight
* The fifth annual Waitakere Pacifica Living Arts Festival, features dancing, music, arts, exhibitions and stalls. Kelston Community Centre, 27 Archibald Rd, from 9 am to 5 pm.
