KEY POINTS:
I travel from Manurewa to Strathallan School every morning and frequently have trouble making a right turn into Hingaia Rd. Traffic often queues back to the motorway, and road widening has done little to ease the congestion. Are there any plans to put traffic lights here?
Suzanne Johnson, Manurewa.
Transit proposes to put lights on the two motorway ramps at Hingaia Rd to tie in with other improvements being made by the local council. Confirmation of the final plan for this work will be done in the next 18 months or so.

Despite a phone call to Auckland City Council, nothing has been done about installing 'School' signs in Hospital Rd and Golf Ave in Otahuhu. Both are used by King's College and Otahuhu College students, and there are no signs to warn motorists.
John Bean, Auckland.
There is a sign, outside 10 Golf Ave, warning southbound traffic of the proximity of both colleges. Another is due to go up on Hospital Rd for northbound motorists. There is already a pedestrian warning on Mangere Rd, and a school sign is due to go up there too.

I have read about a pedestrian walkway across the Southern Motorway near the Greenlane roundabout, but for the life of me I can't find it. Can you help please?
Laurie Johnson, Remuera.
When travelling along Green Lane from east to west, look south and down as you go over the motorway. You'll see a narrow covered walkway quite close to the edge of the roundabout. That's it. It goes under the on- and off-ramps but over the motorway. It has recently been spiffed up, with new lighting and handrails. You can get to it from the footpaths on the south side of Green Lane.
