The full extent of the pay cut taken by Paul Holmes has emerged in Television New Zealand's latest annual report.
It shows the top salary at the state broadcaster is now in the $680,000 to $690,000 bracket, compared with $750,000 to $760,000 in the previous year.
The figures point to Holmes' pay packet dropping $90,000 since the 2000 annual report, when the top salary was in the $770,000 to $780,000 bracket.
Television New Zealand chairman Ross Armstrong said last year that the overall reduction in top-tier salaries would not be fully seen until this year.
Holmes was widely believed to be the top earner at TVNZ but this year's report appears to put former chief executive Rick Ellis on the biggest salary, between $850,000 and $860,000.
For the first time, the annual report discloses the salaries of employees who left during the financial year to last June.
The figure is an extra $100,000 above the top salary reported the year before - suggesting the recipient negotiated a hefty raise before leaving the company.
Mr Ellis left TVNZ in April when his contract expired and was replaced by Ian Fraser as chief executive of the television business.
Two other employees who left during the year were earning salaries at the upper end of the brackets - $540,000 to $550,000 and $450,000 to $460,000.
One of those former staff is thought to be head of television Shaun Brown.
The second-highest salary at the state broadcaster is now $460,000 to $470,000.
