KEY POINTS:
Two teenagers charged with manslaughter after an illegal street race at Mt Maunganui turned to tragedy have been further remanded for a fortnight.
The youths, aged 16 and 18, have been on bail since the death of race starter Scott Finn about 1am on May 19.
They face another pre-depositions hearing on July 16.
The pair, who were excused from attending Tauranga Youth Court today, have interim name suppression and have not pleaded to the charges.
Police allege the elder accused was the driver of a Mitsubishi VR4 which hit and killed Mr Finn at a speed up to 160kmh.
The younger teen was allegedly driving a Honda Integra racing the VR4.
Both are facing manslaughter counts because they were parties to the death, which happened in an industrial area near Tauranga Airport in front of dozens of young car enthusiasts.
