A female teacher convicted of sexual offending against a Wellington schoolboy has unsuccessfully sought name suppression.
However, her identity remains secret for now.
The woman was not in the High Court at Wellington yesterday for a brief hearing about suppression, where her lawyer Stephen Iorns argued that her name should remain secret.
The discussions, before Justice Simon France, were suppressed but in a written decision released last night, the judge rejected the suppression bid.
A temporary suppression order remains in place until last next week and that could continue if the woman appeals Justice France's ruling.
