"This is a look at the life of Jane (Katherine Heigl) a personal assistant to the chief executive of an outdoors company. Jane has three obsessions in life, her boss George (Ed Burns), weddings and, in particular, having the kind of dream wedding her parents had.
Life is bliss until her baby sister Tess (Malin Akerman) ruins all her dreams by dating her boss and planning the wedding Jane has always wanted. The film hinges on Jane's chance meeting with frustrated New York writer Kevin (James Marsden) in a shop. Jane, a regular bridesmaid, is on duty at two weddings in the same night.
She meets Kevin while running between the venues, and he comes across her diary.
Kevin decides it would be good to do some in-depth journalism by writing about Jane and marriage-related commercialism. He confronts her about her love for George - but then falls for her himself.
Without giving too much away, how many romantic comedies have you seen without a happy ending?
Guys, this is a movie to take your girlfriend to see. It's got romance, drama and comedy. There is eye candy for all, with Heigl and Akerman for the guys and Marsden and Burns for the ladies. It's a movie well worth seeing and you should have no problem staying awake right to the very end."
