Diesel prices fell by three cents a litre at two major fuel retailers today.
The price of diesel at Shell stations was cut by 3c per litre to $1.669 per litre, a statement from Shell's owners, Greenstone, said.
Greenstone said the cut was possible due to lower diesel product costs and the improved exchange rate.
BP followed suit later this afternoon, citing the exchange rate only. There was no word on whether the price had changed at other retailers.
Petrol prices remain the same.
