A post-mortem examination is expected to shed light on the death of a man at a Coromandel property on Sunday night.
Waikato police attended a "domestic matter" at a Wyuna Bay property about 11pm on Sunday, said Eastern Waikato Area Investigations Manager Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Pitkethley.
"Police were called by a female in relation to a domestic related matter however on arrival police arrived to find a 37-year-old man unresponsive," he said.
"Officers commenced CPR on the man however their efforts were to no avail and police are currently conducting inquiries in relation to an unexplained death."
"The matter has been reported to the Coroner and we expect a post-mortem examination to be conducted in Auckland tomorrow to hopefully offer some clarification into what has occurred."
