Lead Role in the Hawke's Bay economy
The Hawke's bay Regional Investment Company Ltd (HBRIC Ltd) is a council controlled trading organization established to manage key infrastructure investments in the region. Its missions is to optimise the financial and strategic returns to its shareholder Hawke's Bay Regional council, from its investment portfolio, assisting the vision of 'region with a vibrant community, a prosperous economy, a clean and healthy environment, now and for future generations'.
Reporting to the Board, this part time CEO role will actively manage the investment portfolio, developing the infrastructure to enable economic well-being in the region and building financial strength through appropriate financial investment. Key assets include Council's shareholding in the Port of Napier Limited and the Ruataniwha Water Storage Scheme (RWSS), a long-term sustainable water storage solution in the final stage of development with commencement of construction imminent. The CEO will provide strong leadership to a small team, working closely with the executives and Boards of subsidiaries, to continue to enhance the performance of the company in alignment with strategic goals.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and proven CEO who may have worked within the local government, infrastructure, asset management or investment sectors. Strong commercial and strategic capability is necessary, along with comfort working in political environments and the management of key stake holder relationships. This unique part-time opportunity will suit a person who enjoys complexity and the dynamics and challenge of a hybrid public sector / commercial business operating model.
