An Auckland taxi driver charged with fraudulently buying a large number of Rugby World Cup tickets with the intention of reselling them, will be released on bail at the end of the month.
Nebiyou Demisse, 37, was today granted bail from October 25.
He and Demissie Asgedom, 25, are charged with dishonestly obtaining 1734 Rugby World Cup tickets valued at $845,769.
Asgedom, who lives in Mt Roskill, received bail but Demissie was initially refused bail and appealed against the decision.
He must stay at an address registered with the court, surrender his passport, not apply for other travel documents or contact his co-accused and report to Avondale police station once a week.
