Aurora visible from South Island

On the 6th July a faint Aurora was visible from Darfield. This Aurora occurred because the Earth is passing through a region of interplanetary space with a south-pointing magnetic field, and this is causing geomagnetic unrest around the poles. Courtesy: Andrew Dallow
