An Air New Zealand plane that earlier declared at emergency has landed safely at Hamilton Airport.
Passsengers have spoken of circling for an hour above Hamilton Airport as they waited for emergency services to arrive.
Maria Lute of Wellington said the plane left Wellington 8.30am before stopping in Palmerston North for about 20 minutes.
"They said the front nose wheel came down and then went back up again and they couldn't get it down so they got on the phone to all their technicians. They said that sometimes it happens with that plane.
"So we had to keep on going round and round and round and round, it seemed like we were up there for an hour."
