The names of three people charged with the murder of Napier man Peter Kitchen last month became public when they appeared in Napier District Court today.
They are Dallas Tumai Peneha, 20, Daniel Mark Beams, 19, and Jack Lyall Blance, 18, all of Napier.
Each faces a charge of murdering Mr Kitchen, a 32-year-old finance company account manager who died four days after being beaten and kicked in a Napier street.
They also each face a charge of injuring special education teacher Jeff Pinfold, 26, after he and Mr Kitchen left a bar on April 19.
The accused were arrested the next day on charges of injuring both men.
But the charge relating to Mr Kitchen was replaced with one of murder after he died in hospital.
With lawyers indicating the trio would plead not guilty, Judge Tony Adeane remanded the accused in continued custody for pre-depositions proceedings on May 29.
