Seventy thousand more families than last year are receiving the Government's Working for Families (WFF) tax relief package.
Social Development and Employment Minister David Benson-Pope said that in June alone the Government paid out $140 million in tax relief to families.
In his first question since his swearing-in, Labour list MP Charles Chauvel asked what feedback had been received about the understanding of WFF.
Mr Benson-Pope said the uptake indicated a high public awareness.
The amount a family gets depends on the number of dependents aged 18 years or under, their ages, childcare arrangements, family income and the source of income.
