Puawai Munro Halkyard claimed another national title at the Olympic Weightlifting 2016 National Championships in Auckland last weekend.
The 29-year-old Kaitaia ex-pat competed on Saturday, taking out the women's 69kg title (83kg snatch, 93kg in the clean and jerk for a 176kg total).
She also won a title at the event in 2014, when she competed in the 63kg division.
Also in action from the Far North were Kelly Lum and Kyla Smith from KotahuFit Kaitaia. Both claimed a silver medal in the 94kg junior men (104kg, 127kg, 231kg) and 58kg junior women (54kg, 67kg, 121kg) respectively.
All three competed under the Strength HQ Olympic Weightlifting Club. The event ran from Friday to Sunday.
